There’s a lot of events these days using the word ‘creative’. It’s good because people start to realize the importance of listening to your right brain, instead of just using left brain like what we’ve been doing all these times. But I’m pro of balancing the usage of left and right brain.
I have a bachelor degree in IT and I was a web developer for years. I’m a geek. But I also write romantic novels. I also love drawing manga, and one of my dreams is to become a fashion designer. I’m not a right brainer nor left brainer, I’m an in-between brainer :))
At the launch of an ebook titled ‘Traveling with Creativty’ by @TwiTalkID – a book about creativity from 4 (who considered successful) creative people like Enda Nasution (prominent Indonesian blogger), Adhitia Sofyan (Musician start his career from YouTube), Leonard Theosubrata (owner of Brightspot, Indonesian local brand marketplace) and me (from writers perspective, I’m a writer of 20 books) – at the event, I said to @pungkas that I’m the kind of right brainer that always put a little sense of left brain in everything I do. I use a method that I called: mechanical creativity. For example, if I want to make a book, I won’t wait for mood or inspiration, I’ll look for them. I’ll create them. Then I make a target on when to finish, so I can write on regular basis, consistently every single day.
This week is a very hectic but exciting week because Pekan Produk Kreatif Indonesia (PPKI) 2011 (Indonesia’s Creative Product Week 2011) is ON! I was there for the straight 4 days of the events for various reasons! One day to represent @StartupLokal
The other time to represent @NulisBuku (to launch our special for PPKI 2011 book project #MyHomeTown that is written in 4 days by over 100 people!), @ProjectEden and one time is to talk about myself as a creative person :))
Friday July 8th, is also one of the craziest days when I have to be on 3 stages in one day. One of them is in different location. Friday traffic in Jakarta is impossible that I need to use motorcycle taxi! Thank God I can make it on time for all the events ^_^
Having a great time speaking at FIMELA & Hijab Scarf event: Empowering women through blogging. Lovely to meet my favorite girls and also well known bloggers @FifiAlvianto @HannaFaridl @istribawel and @nuniek . Unfortunately I have to race to the next event that I can’t stay longer. Hopefully we can chat more, ladies ^_^
Last but not least is #StartupLokal Meetup v15: Investor Idol powered by Project Eden. We invited startups to pitch their ideas and judges from @ProjectEden will give either red or green signboard to filter them to the next step: power lunch with the investors from @ProjectEden.
At lunch time, I was in the same table with LocalBrand & PointBump. Giving them insights and hear their plans for their startup. Thank you StartupLokal team: @nataliardianto @nuniek @oleeoebi @bayu99 @ilmanakbar to make the event fab!
Good luck founders for the next pitching round at IDEAfest this upcoming July 21st! We’re from @ProjectEden also very excited to hear your vision! Ps: I personally consider the business models and the founder behind a startup. So, it’s the profitability & personality!
I’d like to express gratitude to #PPKI2011 Indonesia Kreatif team for making all these happen, especially to @fwulansari congrats, you’ve done a great job! I need to learn a lot from you! To @emiralda thanks for always been there for me to solve my problems :)) See you at the next PPKI!
