    Life After Divorce

I’m reading Nora Ephron’s Heartburn, a novel about her divorce back in 1980’s and I ended up browsing in the internet about her and her books. Then I stumble upon this website, it’s Huffington Post Divorce section. They have some interesting articles about after divorce life and I thought maybe I want to share my own story. Divorce is a little doomsday for me. It was financially, socially, and mentally shattering. I’ve been together with my ex husband for a total 10 years before we divorce. I never see this coming. I thought he was the love of my life. It struck us so fast that when we finally divorced,…

    The Coffee Shop Chronicles

I think most of us have experience this when we’re in coffee shop: we watch people. And our imagination grow. That’s exactly what’s in the mind of 22 writers of “The Coffee Shop Chronicles” when they start writing a collaboration book about situation in a coffee shop in one day from the point of view of each of the guest (even from a coffee cup point of view :D) The writers started writing and self published their book at NulisBuku.com @nulisbuku. We at NulisBuku.com see the potential of the book and submit it to major publisher: byPASS. byPASS agreed to publish “The Coffee Shop Chronicles” and on Sunday, June 3rd…

    Perempuan Inspiratif Nova 2012

It’s a great honor for me to receieve an Inspiring Woman Award 2012 (Editor’s Choice) from Tabloid Nova with 15 other inspiring women from all over Indonesia. For the awarding night, we were gathered for 2 days and following a lot of exciting events by Tabloid Nova and the sponsors. There’s business seminar, make-up tutorial, beauty and body care seminar, spa, makeover, and shopping! But the most important thing is to be able to know personally, all these inspiring ladies, and take lessons from them. One of the most inspiring must be Mrs. Saidah from Buton, southeast part of Sulawesi. She’s a seaweed farmer but also environment activist. She captured…

Why You Should be Proud to be an Indonesian

Put Indonesian in a room full of global citizen and we will shy away, getting more quiet, can’t speak our opinion, and all other things that indicated that either we can’t speak English properly (which usually not true, we speak on a very well articulated and good grammar English) or we have low self confidence (for many different reasons, mostly because we’re feeling inferior compared to other countries). My entrepreneur friend who just back from Arizona on Goldman Sachs 10000 women initiative said, the girls from other countries had dominating conversations in their business class at ThunderBird School. They make comment on things the teachers said, stated their opinion. And…

    Belitung New Year Trip

Those of you that has been watching my updates on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook & Flickr must have known that I went to Belitung for the New Year’s holiday with the whole family. I think this is the first time after a long while we go together in a vacation. I’ve been recommending Belitung as one of the best places to visit in Indonesia, a heaven for photographers. It has some of the best beach, scenery, pretty sunsets and it’s the home of Laskar Pelangi. Most Indonesian know Laskar Pelangi. It’s a mega best selling book by Andrea Hirata, telling stories about his childhood in Belitung. It was so inspiring because…

Let’s start by reviewing 2011. 2011 is a wild year. One of the best years in my 28 years of life. Today is a special day. 11-11-11 – it only comes once in 100 years. It also has a lot of deep spiritual meaning. I wrote some about my experience with 1111 in a book titled 1111 that will be launched today on NulisBuku.com 1st Birthday Party. I really wanted to post a special blog post for today. Since the date number will create a great URL link hehe. And I decide to write about 11 things I am grateful for (apart from the obvious: complete body parts, oxygen and all), and here they are: Health I’ve been very busy in the past year. Always come home late, around 11pm. Attend…
