Baluran National Park
Last weekend I got a chance to visit Baluran National Park as an attempt to get to know more of Indonesian Eco Tourism destinations. Baluran is a protected forest in East Java, that also got Savannah called Bekol and a beach called Bama Beach. You can go there from Surabaya (5 hours drive). It’s cheap. The entrance ticket only $2 and if you don’t bring a car, you can ask for Ojek or motorcycle ride for around $3-$5. Instantly I enjoy the beauty of Baluran. This is a great place to have Pre-Wedding session or even just doing a photography rally with your friends.
It’s adventurous. Because you can see animals that you’d normally see at the zoo. Now you can see them in their own home. We saw some peacocks and must played hide and seek with them (remind me of the movie ‘Up’), also I just knew that they could fly! How bizarre :P
It’s beautiful. All over the forest we can see beautiful sceneries of any type of trees/plants. We can also view Bekol Savannah from a tower. It’s beautiful up there!
It’s Magical. When it’s time to get back, we can see the misty mountain from afar. Truly magical!
Bonus: a beach! Not only Bama Beach, just 1 hour from Baluran, if you go to Banyuwangi direction, you’ll get a beautiful beach around Watudodol are. Take a sip of coconut drink, and that would be the best way to sealed the day!
